Important Changes to GreenPlumbers USA

 - Training and Accreditation to become fully ANSI, ISO certified

 - Discounted licensing rate for association members

In conjunction with the original GreenPlumbers group in Australia, GreenPlumbers USA has reviewed our mission statement and taken a firm step towards solidifying the GreenPlumbers training and accreditation program as the industry standard.  We are announcing changes in the training and licensing structure and wanted to share these changes with our accredited GreenPlumbers first.

Training & Accreditation

Just as the USGBC has adopted changes in LEED designations and processes this year, GreenPlumbers USA Training & Accreditation and GreenPlumbers USA Licensing are creating innovations that will insure consistency, uniformity, quality, and integrity in our United States offerings.  In conjunction with our application to become a USGBC education provider, effective October 31, 2009, the GreenPlumbers Training & Accreditation program will only issue the GreenPlumbers globally-recognized accreditation upon successful completion of all five core courses and a third-party administered assessment.  This change brings value to accredited GreenPlumbers and their employers by virtue of providing a validated, uniform accreditation across all segments of the plumbing industry. In keeping with ANSI, ISO, and USGBC certification principles, an eight hour re-certification will be required of each accredited GreenPlumber every three years, to keep up with code, technological and curriculum changes.

Licensing

GreenPlumbers USA and GreenPlumbers Australia are determined to make the logo more available, and we believe this can best be accomplished by supporting industry associations.  Because the associations are the regulatory and legislative support mechanisms of the industry, it’s only logical that GreenPlumbers is deferential to these organizations.

GreenPlumbers is well-positioned to become the industry standard, and we urge you to get involved. The United Association has included the GreenPlumbers curriculum into their National Training – and is training over 150 of their instructors next week to ensure that plumbers across the country have access to the GreenPlumbers message.

The GreenPlumbers licensing program will be made available to all MCAA, PHCC-NA, and Nexstar members for a $300 initial fee and $200 monthly fee.  The standard initial fee of $5,000 and $300 monthly fee will continue for all non-association members.

The licensing changes will take effect immediately.  If you have interest in becoming a Licensed GreenPlumber, please complete a licensing application online at: http://www.greenplumbersusa.com/App-for-GP-Licensing or contact Jon Cruz directly via e-mail: jon@greenplumbersusa.com or phone: 916.239.4660.
