In the early 1980s, Tom Leduc and Art Dexter became partners in a plumbing company called "LeDuc & Dexter." Twenty-five years later, the company is one of the most prominent plumbing contractors in the North Bay area of California, and its first regional GreenPlumbers licensee. "We were unaware of that when we first signed on," says president Tom LeDuc, "but we're proud to be the leader in our market. We are in the position to guide our customers in the right direction with their new green projects and existing buildings. We believe in supporting a sustainable environment and doing everything we can to save our planet for our children and grandchildren." LeDuc & Dexter has the unique opportunity to be able to work with wineries in Napa and Sonoma. "We have many winery customers who can benefit from solar thermal systems," LeDuc says. The company plans to focus their environmental work on water conservation, energy audits and solar water heating. LeDuc & Dexter also has a design/build division, which will focus, LeDuc says, on "designing energy-efficient water and radiant heating and cooling systems." LeDuc & Dexter is headquartered in Santa Rosa, California, with 75 employees and about 50 trucks. Services include residential, commercial, design/build, hydronics and a residential service division called Super Service Plumbing, which serves Santa Rosa, Healdsburg, Petaluma and Sonoma. |
